Grumpy Badgers Christmas by Paul Bright

Product Description

Grumpy Badger's Christmas by Paul Bright is a children's Christmas picture book illustrated by Jane Chapman. Christmas is approaching, and the woodland animals are excited about the celebrations, but Grumpy Badger has other plans. He wants to settle down in his home and sleep through the winter until spring arrives. Determined to be left alone, he warns the other animals that he will be very grumpy if anyone wakes him. However, three unexpected visitors interrupt his hibernation, and an emergency involving one of his woodland friends forces him to reconsider his attitude towards Christmas.

The story follows Grumpy Badger as he turns away his friends before discovering that Mole needs help after becoming stranded at the top of the woodland Christmas tree. His experience changes his outlook, and he eventually rescues Mole and welcomes the animals into his home for a Christmas feast. Jane Chapman's colourful illustrations depict the woodland animals, their winter surroundings and the festive preparations. The story draws on themes of friendship, kindness, generosity and the importance of helping others, with a humorous Christmas narrative reminiscent of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. This 32 page paperback edition is published by Little Tiger and is intended for young readers aged 3 to 6 years.
