The Bontempi Accordion with 17 Keys lets children play melodies using 17 piano style keys ranging from C to E, including sharps, while six bass buttons provide accompaniment. The bellows, melody keys and bass buttons are played together in the same way as an accordion, giving children several controls to use as they learn different tunes.

The keys use Bontempi's 7 Note 7 Colour music method, with colour coding helping players identify the notes across the keyboard. A shoulder strap is included to support the accordion while playing, and the instrument is recommended for children aged 3 years and above.
