The Schleich Giraffe Calf from WILD LIFE represents a young giraffe during its first months of life. Newborn giraffes weigh around 50 kilograms and can stand and run shortly after falling roughly two metres to the ground at birth.

Young giraffes are raised together in nursery groups while an adult female watches over them. At around four months they begin plucking small leaves from trees, although they continue to drink milk from their mothers until they are about nine months old.
